The Plot So Far

The actual plot (so far):

A psychologist named Patti is haunted by the memory of her dead daughter, Meredith. Meredith committed suicide through drowning. Patti feels it was her fault for not being able to help her therefore she became a psychologist to help others and atone. The film starts off in Patti's organized and cute office with her staring at her notes, not listening to the patient in front of her, who is unnamed for now. The patient's voice is muffled to represent that Patti is zoned out, thinking of something but the audience doesn't know what yet. An alarm goes off, signifying that the hour is up and Patti is snapped out of her trance. The patient gets a candy before leaving and Patti says goodbye. As the patient is leaving we see a flash of a person in the corner of the screen and Patti gasps, obviously shaken. The patient asks if she's ok, Patti says yes but looks at a photo of her daughter as the patient leaves. Patti sits down but is suddenly in the fake room, and looks around. The patient comes back in, saying "So sorry forgot my keys" and once again sees Patti shaken. Patti says she's alright but begins to rock back and forth. The patient leaves again. "Can You Help Me?" appears. Back to the film, Patti stands up, saying "I'm ok. Everything is ok." Patti begins to clean the office but sees a longer flash of the person, who we now know is her daughter. She sits down at her desk to organize notes but is back in the fake room. She tries to continue doing her work but her papers are now soaked. She quickly stands up and walks out of her office, rushing to the bathroom to dry her papers. As she walks down the hallway there is water leading to the bathroom. She bumps into someone, who asks if she's ok. She says yes and walks faster. Now she's in the bathroom. She puts the papers under a dryer and goes to the sink to wash her face. She washes her face, but when she looks up her daughter is standing behind her. End.

Side notes:

"committed suicide through drowning": I need to do research on both suicide and drowning to not only be respectful but to be able to use appropriate costume design. That will be tomorrow's post.

"flash of a person": Inspired by Fight Club. Further elaboration on this will also be in tomorrow's post.

"Can You Help Me?": Title, hints towards patient but at the end it is understood that it is in reference to Patti herself. The font used will be chosen this weekend and included in Sunday's post.

I'll be back soon!! I have time to work on my blogs now & I'll work harder on them. Super excited for the Fight Club post because I absolutely love that movie.
