Research on Lighting

One thing I'm super worried about is how to convey the change from a warmly lit room to a dark room with our budget, so I decided to do some research.

Research

Video lighting tips and tricks for your next at-home shoot says to rely on natural lighting and three point lighting, which can be respectably done with sun obviously and silver reflective surfaces like foil to accomplish strong fill light, and use white surfaces for a softer, more natural fill. For nighttime, which will probably be when we shoot the fake room, two lamps, one on the left and one on the right and (if possible) arranged at 45 degrees to either side of the face and raised to just above the eye line should do the trick. In case we need a ring light, I have one at home.

To do/buy

- white cardstock

- find ring light

- buy new ring light if I can't find ring light (will probably be the case)

- read more articles and watch videos on at home lighting

Moving Forward (definitely did not take this idea from Grace)

Film at a time when the sun is high and the natural lighting is good, have a plethora of lamps, use white cardstock for the soft lighting, and use a ring light.
